Pakistan Stands with Kashmir: COAS General Asim Munir Affirms Support

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir emphasized the importance of upholding constitutional limits and ensuring regional stability during his address at the Pakistan Air Force’s passing out parade in Risalpur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The event, held at the Asghar Khan Academy, provided a platform for General Asim to underscore key principles and challenges facing the nation.

In his speech, General Asim highlighted Article 19 of the Constitution of Pakistan, which delineates the boundaries of freedom of speech and expression. He reiterated the military’s commitment to respecting these constitutional limits and called upon others to do the same, emphasizing that those who defy such restrictions have no authority to criticize others.

Acknowledging the professionalism of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF), General Asim commended the force for consistently meeting the nation’s expectations. He emphasized the pivotal role of a strong air force in safeguarding the country against external threats, praising the PAF’s unwavering courage and dedication, particularly citing the exemplary performance during the events of February 2019.

On the Kashmir issue, General Asim reiterated Pakistan’s stance against India’s illegal occupation of the region.

General Asim addressed the cadets directly, lauding them as the embodiment of the nation’s aspirations and the guardians of regional unity. He urged them to embrace qualities of character, courage, and competence, highlighting the military’s expectation for them to uphold the nation’s values and traditions.

Turning to regional peace and security, General Asim cautioned against escalating arms races, warning of potential disruptions to the balance of power in the region. He also drew attention to ongoing conflicts, notably the situation in Palestine, condemning violence and emphasizing the need for global attention and intervention to address humanitarian crises.

On the Kashmir issue, General Asim reiterated Pakistan’s stance against India’s illegal occupation of the region. He condemned the silence of the international community regarding Indian aggression in Kashmir, affirming Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination and pledging continued moral, political, and diplomatic assistance.
