The Pakistan U19 cricket team is set to participate in a seven-match ODI tri-series, including a final, against Afghanistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from November 13 to 26. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Wednesday that while the series will be hosted by the UAE, specific venues are still being finalized.

The series will kick off with a match between Pakistan U19 and the UAE U19 on November 13. Following the initial six games, the top two teams will advance to the final scheduled for November 26.

This tri-series is strategically planned as a preparatory event for the ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup 2024, which will take place in December, although the exact dates are yet to be confirmed. The series aims to provide young players with crucial match practice ahead of the Asia Cup.

In addition to the tri-series, the PCB will organize a National U19 Cup, played in a 50-over format, and a three-day Championship event in October. These events will offer Pakistan’s U19 players the chance to showcase their talents and impress selectors for a spot in the final squad for the tri-series.

PCB Director International Usman Wahla emphasized the importance of the tri-series for player development. “We are delighted that the Pakistan Men’s U19 team will participate in a highly competitive U19 tri-series in the UAE just before the ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup. This will be a great opportunity for the young players to grow and nurture their skills,” Wahla said.

Wahla also expressed gratitude to the Emirates Cricket Board for organizing the series, highlighting the strong bilateral ties and shared commitment between the two boards towards developing young cricket talent.
