The Information Minister of Pakistan, Attaullah Tarar, accused the social media team of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Sunday of orchestrating an online campaign attacking the Pakistan Army and soldiers martyred in North Waziristan. Tarar warned of strict action against those involved and emphasized the sacrifices made by the army in the war against terrorism.

Speaking at a press conference in Lahore, Tarar condemned the disrespectful social media campaign and alleged that PTI’s social media team was responsible for it. He stressed the importance of national unity and security, urging the nation to refrain from crossing “red lines.” Tarar emphasized that those behind the campaign would be identified and brought to justice through legal means.

In response, PTI’s senior leader Asad Qaiser criticized federal ministers Khawaja Asif and Attaullah Tarar for their accusations against PTI. Qaiser labeled their statements as misleading propaganda and expressed regret over their comments.

Earlier, Information Minister Tarar had warned of action against PTI’s social media team, attributing the derogatory online activity to them. Defence Minister Asif also weighed in, condemning those who made disparaging remarks about the martyrs. However, PTI leader Qaiser defended his party’s stance, stating that PTI always recognized and honored the sacrifices of soldiers defending the country’s borders.
