The 2024 race season at Nodak Speedway kicked off in April and, after 11 electrifying race events, culminated in a spectacular Championship Night on Sunday, June 30. The local community and racing enthusiasts gathered to witness an exhilarating night of high-speed action and celebrate the season’s top performers.

Will Scheresky of Max emerged victorious in the IMCA Stock Car feature on Championship Night. His win was particularly impressive given that he had been racing with a backup engine for the past six events. Despite the challenges posed by worn-out equipment, Scheresky and his team managed to fine-tune the car, achieving optimal performance just in time for the championship.

“[I am] super excited to be able to have raced my way to a Championship in Minot,” Scheresky said. “We’ve been running a backup engine the past six nights and battling some worn out equipment. Finally, these last few nights have got the car dialed in to run as best as it can with the lesser backup engine and have found some speed.”

With the season nearing its midpoint, Scheresky is focused on maintaining his momentum. “Just hoping to get through the rest of the points nights in Underwood at the McLean County Speedway. We’re close in a battle for a championship there. Hoping to finish the season strong and go to work in the shop over the winter to upgrade and update everything for next season.”

Local Minot racer Kyler Satran placed third in the IMCA Hobby Stock race and has been enjoying a successful season. Satran’s car has performed consistently well, allowing him to compete at a high level.

“The car is running good, we got some dents in the body from the feature [Sunday] that’s all,” Satran said. “Track was fast [Sunday], which didn’t allow for much error without cautions.”

In the 15-lap IMCA Hobby Stock race, Brennor Grinnstead from Stanley, North Dakota, claimed victory after starting from the ninth position. Connor Hanson from Torquay, Saskatoon, finished second, advancing from the third spot. Minot’s Kyler Satran secured third place, moving up from tenth.
