Historic Rivalry Renewed: US and Canada Gear Up for T20 Clash
As cricket fever grips Prairie View Cricket Complex, the stage is set for a riveting showdown between the United States national cricket team and its longstanding rival, the Canadian national team. The eagerly anticipated five-match series kicks off this Sunday, offering cricket enthusiasts a thrilling preview ahead of the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
Admission to all five matches will be free, providing fans with the perfect opportunity to witness top-tier cricketing action in preparation for the upcoming World Cup. Spectators need not worry about tickets, as access to the spectator area will be open to all.
Scheduled to take place on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, the matches promise an exciting lineup of competitive cricket. Matches on Sunday, Friday, and Saturday will commence at 10 a.m., while Tuesday and Wednesday fixtures will begin at 3 p.m.
This series marks the first of two international warmup events hosted by the United States at Prairie View Cricket Complex in anticipation of the World Cup. Following this series, the U.S. will face off against the Bangladesh national cricket team in a three-game set in late May.
Sunday’s matchup holds particular significance as it marks the national team’s first T20 match since their encounter with the Papua New Guinea national team in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, in July 2022.
