The statement from the Supreme Court spokesperson outlines the sequence of events that unfolded after the receipt of a letter from six IHC judges to the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC), expressing apprehensions over intelligence agency interference in judicial affairs. The judges sought guidance on reporting such actions and emphasized the duty to uphold judicial independence.

The proposal to establish an inquiry commission, headed by a retired judge of impeccable integrity, was put forth to investigate the matter thoroughly.

Upon receiving the letter, CJP Isa promptly organized a full court meeting with all IHC judges to hear their concerns individually, demonstrating a commitment to transparency and accountability. Subsequent meetings with Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, and legal representatives further underscored the gravity of the situation.

In a subsequent full court meeting, the CJP briefed all judges on the outcomes of the discussions with the prime minister, ensuring transparency and collective understanding among the judiciary.
